Benefits & Information
Jessica believes in integrative healthcare and honoring the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. She is happy to recommend an excellent chiropractor, acupuncturist, naturopath, therapist, and help you find the professional help you need to achieve optimal health! Happier and healthier people function better in their roles- family, work, and community, and have better quality of life. It’s time to take care of yourself!
A good massage requires effective communication. The 10 point scale will help you convey how the massage feels, with 1 being barely perceptible touch, 5 being firm pressure, and 10 being intolerable pain. We do not want to go above a 7 or “hurts so good,” but less pressure is also effective. The techniques Jessica uses do not employ the “no pain no gain” philosophy. The massage can be intense, especially trigger point therapy, but you should be able to stay relaxed and breathe while receiving the work. When the body tenses and muscles contract from painful massage, it is counterproductive, and you risk overworking the tissues. If you have an acute injury, you MUST get an accurate diagnosis and permission/referral from a Primary Care Provider before receiving massage for it.
Massage therapy is commonly used for relaxation and pain relief, and recent research suggests symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression may be positively affected. A growing body of evidence shows that therapeutic massage can be effective for a variety of health conditions including fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and more:
- Reduce stress and muscle tension
- Sleep better
- Boost mental health and wellness
- Improve range of motion
- Restore structural balance
- Reduce recovery time from injuries, surgeries, and athletic events
Testimonials
I tried the Himalayan salt hot stone massage and it was absolutely incredible! With the heat of the stones I experienced a deeper sense of relaxation throughout my massage. I did not want it to end! After a deep tissue massage I’m usually a little sore for a few days but with the salt stone massage I didn’t have that post soreness that I usually get. And added bonus, the stones lightly exfoliate your skin so my skin was feeling baby soft!
Jessica has always provided a wonderful massage, working on those “trouble” areas, lower back, shoulder. Jessica always asks about what areas I needed extra attention and arranges her time accordingly. It’s well worth it and I always feel so much better following a great therapeutic massage.
Well worth the wait! This lady is busy, and for a good reason!
She is attentive to your pressure request, and makes sure that each problem area gets consistent attention. I immediately booked another massage for myself, and for my husband.
