Jessica Buuck, CMT
Owner and Certified Massage Therapist #42345
Jessica has been a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association since January 1, 2001.
Meet Jessica
Jessica has been a fan of massage from a young age, when she learned firsthand the benefits of massage therapy and chiropractic care for back problems. She officially started down her career path as a massage therapist in January of 2000 at East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, OR. It was there she gained a deep understanding of the human body with classes in anatomy, physiology, pathology, and kinesiology, along with classes for massage modalities like deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports muscle energy technique, Swedish, and myofascial release. After graduating from the 661 hour program, she passed Oregon’s written and practical licensing exams and got her Oregon Massage Therapy License #7734 in 2001. After moving back to her home state of California in 2013, she got her certification from the California Massage Therapy Council as a Certified Massage Therapist #42345.
Over the years Jessica has worked in a variety of settings. She started out working at a chiropractic clinic for many years, where she was certified as a chiropractic assistant and combined massage therapy with other therapies like ultrasound and interferential current. Later, Jessica worked at a wellness center with acupuncturists, massage therapists, and yoga, then ran her own small massage practice and an outcall massage practice, and then worked at a massage spa chain. Her experience has taught her to use a combination of techniques to achieve longer lasting and faster results. She also enjoys working in conjunction with other health practitioners like acupuncturists and chiropractors to help clients reach their goals much faster and treat the whole body rather than just the soft tissues. She encourages her clients to try different modalities and find what works best for them and their needs.
Jessica grew up in Carlsbad, and she is thrilled to be back! Of all the places she’s lived, Carlsbad is her favorite. While she doesn’t currently live in Carlsbad, being able to work here is the next best thing!
When Jessica isn’t working as a massage therapist or tending to the business end of her practice, she is an animator and artist. She has worked on a variety of projects, and you can view her portfolio at jessicabuuck.com. Jessica also loves playing with her fur babies (right now she has 2 cats), eating, cooking, gardening, hiking, swimming, dancing, playing bass, watching movies, and playing video games.
