“To experience peace does not mean that your life is always blissful. It means that you are capable of tapping into a blissful state of mind amidst the normal chaos of a hectic life.”
~Jill Bolte Taylor
Right now I’m feeling the peace and bliss that comes after thoroughly cleaning my house. I listen to music I love, open the windows, and get sweaty and dirty while my house gets clean. I also dance a little because I love it and can’t help myself. 😁It was a great activity for this #selfcaresaturday 🧹🧺🧽 It helped me tap into that inner peace and blissful mind after feeling stressed and anxious this week. Self Care for sure! When we’re feeling anxious, activities that give us a sense of control can help, and they are a great outlet for that anxious energy. It also helps release energy when I’m angry or frustrated. When I’m done, that sense of accomplishment is great, and I love the calm and peace I feel when my home is clean! And it makes my OCD very happy and burns calories! Lol 😌🧘♀️🔥
Good Housekeeping has a great article about how cleaning can help manage stress, “On a subconscious level, clutter is likely to be linked with negative emotions (confusion, tension, irritability, worry) whereas a clean space is more likely to be linked with positive emotions (happiness, calm, a sense of wellbeing), explains Sherrie Bourg Carter, Psy.D., psychologist and author of High-Octane Women: How Superachievers Can Avoid Burnout.” For the full article click here.
